Revolutionary War spies were hanged at the corner of Gallows Hill Road and Brookside Place, where a giant hanging tree once stood. The tree is no longer there but locals say you can still see eerie movements here from a distance.

Once while driving down the north side of gallows hill road, I saw shadows moving with no one there. The other side, on the side near the college, I was driving and followed by a car that was there one minute and gone the next with no sign of turning off.
